Your digital footprint part two — Women to Watch: Tech Watch

As we continue to use social media and the Internet in general, we generate what is called a digital footprint. A digital footprint gets bigger and bigger throughout the years and is created when we post photos, have email accounts, go online shopping, etc.

To ensure your privacy and safety is protected, it’s important to understand the precautions you need to take. The first step is to try googling yourself – you might be surprised at what you find!

The next steps include double checking your privacy settings on social media sites and creating passwords that are difficult to hack. Try and stay away from dog names, maiden names, birthdates. Instead, use a random word with a capital letter and symbol. If you need help generating a password, check out the site 1Password.
