We Care: Supporting West Scranton Community Development

As our We Care community outreach program continues into the month of August, our team has completed our second round of drop-offs for our friends at West Scranton Community Development! The volunteers were incredibly grateful for our contributions and have even informed us that they have been approved for their first grant that will go towards improvements of the center!

West Scranton Community Development is a non-profit organization who has a vision to offer a wide variety of activities for both learning and athletics while also offering a source of support for the less fortunate.

At times, the center will host anywhere between 30-60 kids each day. In their most recently acquired property, West Scranton Community Development offers a fully equipped basketball court, separate rooms to organize a variety of activities and a perfect space for a game room. Currently, students of all ages can spend their after-school hours participating in open gym hours for activities like dodgeball, kickball and other recreational games, as well as classes for art and science.

To help ease the burden of the costs behind supplies and program funding, our team came together to collect as much as we could. This includes:

  • Sam’s Club gift cards
  • Paint bottles
  • Paint canvases
  • Paint brushes

As always, any contribution big or small will put a smile on someone’s face.
