After winning this year’s Hackathon, what’s next for Team Scrantonicity?

Knowledge19 may be over, but we’re still flying on cloud nine from our Hackathon victory — even ServiceNow has some great writing about the event and Team Scrantonicity’s win: https://blogs.servicenow.com/2019/servicenow-hackathon-winners-2019.html.

If you missed it, our team of technical leads and development consultants (James Trott, Sean Teeple, Marcus Dermont, Brandon Senese and Mike Borthwick) built a custom application inside of ServiceNow — Reizen — to assist users with airline and hotel reservations, rideshare and optical character recognition of receipt photos in order to make expense reporting a breeze.
The entirety of Reizen was built in the Hackathon’s 10-hour timeframe. Our team leveraged the capabilities of the new Virtual Agent and various APIs inside of ServiceNow.

The next steps for Team Scrantonicity include a featured spot in an upcoming ServiceNow webinar (scheduled for June), where they will discuss Reizen in more detail.

“It’s basically another IT idea we feel ServiceNow could really use,” said Marcus Dermont. “There were apps that offered what we built, but it had nothing to do with ServiceNow. If we offered this as a solution, I think it would be really valuable.”
