National STEM Day — Women to Watch: Tech Watch

November 8th is National STEM Day! For this week’s Tech Watch segment, Mary felt the timing was appropriate to use this as an opportunity to discuss the lack of women in technology industry and why it matters. Over the course of the last couple years, Mary has shared multiple ideas as to what steps can be taken to help close this gap.

To recap, although more companies are including women in their technology roadmaps, the percentage of women earning computer science degrees continues to decline. In order to make a change, we must spark a young girl’s interest in STEM. To foster a love for something, it needs to be made part of everyday life. To do this, there are a bunch of fun learning activities free of charge.
