We are very excited to be working with the Catherine McAuley Center again this fall as our We Care program focuses on collecting items for the months of October and November. Last year, our collection of Halloween costumes we donated for the children there were a huge hit!
The Catherine McAuley Center was established in 1984 with a commitment to care for homeless women and children that to this day remains as strong as ever. Their mission is to provide shelter for women and children who seek a safe, affordable and permanent place to call home. Additional support services assist women achieve self-reliance as well as access to medical and community resources. Thanks to the supportive environment, women now have a place where they can rebuild their lives and regain a true sense of dignity.
Currently, the housing facilities are seeking basic, everyday items we would use in our own homes. This includes:
- Housekeeping & Maintenance Supplies
- Trash Bags
- Light Bulbs
- Tissues
- Laundry Detergent
- Paper Towels
- Toilet Paper
- and more!
- Resident Supplies
- Diapers
- Advil
- Cold Medicine
- Baby Wipes
- Women’s Hygiene Products
- Baby Powder
- Toothpaste
- Band-Aids
- and more!
- Food Items
- Sugar
- Flour
- Pasta
- Condiments
- Honey
- Coffee/Tea
- Frozen Vegetables
- Juice
- Peanut Butter/Jelly
- Pancake Mix/Syrup
- and more!
With the approaching festivities of Halloween, the Catherine McAuley Center is also looking for new and/or gently used costumes for children of all ages. We will also be collecting snow boots and pants for the children in their Permanent Supportive Housing Program, as well as participate in their Adopt-A-Family Program for the holiday season!
