We Care: Pathways announces new community outreach initiative

We Care is Pathways’ new social-minded community outreach initiative. Every month, Pathways will collect donations to support non-profit organizations in the local Scranton metropolitan area to improve our community and give back to our neighbors in need. Our goal is to continue this initiative for years to come and shine light on small, local non-profit organizations in need that may otherwise go unnoticed.

For the months of October and November, we are supporting the Catherine McAuley Center, a nonprofit organization based in Scranton, PA that provides housing and services for the fastest growing segment of the homeless community: Women and children.

For a mother with young children and no place to live, it is incredibly difficult to afford the many necessities a child needs throughout development. This includes diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, soaps, blankets, socks, and more. The average cost of a box of diapers can be between 21-45 dollars. This is a near impossible price to pay for women struggling to feed and house their family while looking for work.

The Catherine McAuley Center has helped dozens of women and children by providing them with a safe space and the necessary support to navigate their path towards a better life. Several women have already shared their stories, detailing how their lives have changed forever thanks to the volunteer efforts of the center.

As a company with a majority of Scranton locals, we are dedicated to making an impact in our community by supporting local non-profit organizations. By volunteering our energy and efforts, we hope to strengthen our community one month at a time.
