Telemedicine vs. Telehealth — Women to Watch: TechWatch

Over the course of the next few weeks, Mary will be dedicating her Tech Watch segments to the types of technology advancements that have been made due to the present conditions in our world. Amid the effects of COVID-19, we are seeing many positive outcomes in technology – specifically in healthcare.

While doing her research, Mary reached out to one of our clients, Caregility, and learned that there is a concept called Telemedicine and another called Telehealth. While they sound the same, they are quite different.

Telemedicine uses electronic communications and software to provide clinical services to patients without an in-person visit. Whereas Telehealth includes a broad range of technologies and services to provide patient care and improve the healthcare delivery system entirely.

Mary shares her additional research below for this week’s Tech Watch on Women to Watch with Susan Rocco. Check it out below:

Tune in for next week’s segment when Mary discusses the incredible solutions that our client, Caregility has developed in the telehealth space and their rapid response to the needs of healthcare providers!
